Heyya bloggy!
Sarah gave me a book on - "30 ways to achieve happiness". Abit confusing but it still makes a nice read.. Chapter 1 was on "Ponder and give thanks". Here's what I think of it..
It's true that more often than not, we wish for something which we don't have and forgot to give thanks for those that we've already owned. In my oppinion, material possessions don't really make our life any better. It's the feeling of gratitude in having those items that makes you feel good. You could wish for a fairlady z one day and once you've got it, you'd want a ferrari. Know what I mean? If you ain't grateful for it, no matter what you have, you'll never be happy..
I know a lot of people who have a lot of everything, and still they're absolutely the most miserable people in the world. So it won't do anything for you unless you're a happy person and can have peace with yourself. At least. if you haven’t got all the things you want, be grateful for the things you don’t have and wouldn’t want, like sickness etc. Be thankful for the shelter you've got over your head, the meal you've just had, family whom loves you and the friends that you've made.
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not merely uttering words of thanks, but to live by them. I think I learned to appreciate and treasure each day as it comes because you never really know how many you're going to be given. So live life to the fullest, or a more common saying - "Live like there's no tomorrow".
I'm pretty sure that if you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude. Trust me, it makes the world much brighter coz the best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart. Heyy, every cloud has a silver lining~ Find them :)

Awww... so touched about u mentioning me. XP i thought long and hard over what kind of special gift to give to u and worried that u might find it offensive of me to give u such a 'religious' book. >.< and since we've known each other for soo long (and will continue to be friends forever in future too!) I figured what is the best thing u could present to your friend that will benefit her and last long hopefully... A little piece of wisdom and true words. That said, when i'm loaded and earning big bucks as a shrink, i'll buy you pretty gifts as well okiee~! :P hehehe....
